Liquid Anti-Foam Concentrate For Egg Washing
* Purpose
EW 61 is designed to suppress and control foam caused by excessive breaking of eggs in wash tanks. It should be used when chemical and mechanical adjustments fail to control foaming.
* Typical Applications
EW 61 is designed for use in pressure spray washers in egg cleaning plants, particularly where increased egg breakage is anticipated. EW 61 is safe to use in contact with steel, stainless steel, copper, tin, brass, or aluminum, as well as tile, brick, porcelain, plastic and painted surfaces, when used as directed.

* Properties
EW 61 is a clear, odorless, liquid which is completely miscible with water at all recommended use concentrations. EW 61 is neutral in pH, and has a Specific Gravity of 1.01 (8.4 lbs./gallon).
* Use Directions
Wash eggs with recommended LW Chemical egg detergent. Use EW 61 only as needed. EW 61 should be used at the rate of 1 ounce per 100 gallons of wash water. The exact amount needed will depend upon the soil load, and quantity of broken eggs. Avoid overuse of this product, as it may adversely affect whippability of egg white. Maintain temperature of wash water (20-40 F.) higher than internal temperature of eggs.

EW 61 is authorized by the USDA for use under category code letter Q5:
Foam Control Compounds: may be used to control foam in egg washing machines. Eggs
washed in water containing these compounds shall be immediately subject to a thorough
potable water rinse.
