Self-Foaming, Heavy Duty Alkaline Cleaner
* Purpose
LAC 444 is a self-foaming product that produces a stable foam for removal of creasote, oils, smoke deposits, fats, and other food soils. No foam additive is necessary.
* Typical Applications
LAC 444 is designed for use in meat and poultry plants, in smokehouses, smokehouse trees, racks, ovens, walls, floors, and many other heavily soiled surfaces. All recommended use concentrations of LAC 444 are safe to use on steel, stainless steel, iron, concrete, and ceramic tile. Do not use on soft metals such as aluminum, zinc, tin, chrome, brass, or painted surfaces.

* Properties
LAC 444 is a clear, thin, brown liquid with a mild characteristic odor. It contains a concentrated blend of alkaline builders, wetting and penetrating agents, emulsifiers, and water conditioners. LAC 444 has a Specific Gravity of 1.295 (10.8 lbs./gallon).
* Use Directions
Heat smokehouses, ovens and cookers to at least normal operating temperatures. Prepare a solution of 1 gallon of LAC 444 per 45 gallons of 140 F water. For injection foam units, mix 2 gallons of LAC 444 with 3 gallons of cold water in a 5 gallon container. Dilution ratio should be 1 to 18. Foam onto surfaces to be cleaned. Allow 5 to 10 minutes contact time, but do not allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Available in 55 gallon plastic drums and more economical bulk quantities.

LAC 444 is authorized by the USDA for use under category code letter A2:

DANGER:
CAUSES SEVERE BURNS. MAY BE FATAL IF SWALLOWED. HARMFUL IF INHALED.
Contains sodium hydroxide. Do not get in eyes, on skin, on clothing. Avoid breathing dust or mist. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.
PRECAUTION: When handling, wear goggles or face shield and rubber gloves. While making solutions, add slowly to surface of solution to avoid violent spattering.
This product reacts with reducing sugars from food soils during cleaning to form hazardous carbon monoxide. Before entering enclosed or semi-enclosed areas, test and moniter for carbon monoxide. Exposure to carbon monoxide may be fatal.

FIRST AID: CALL A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse, discard contaminated shoes. If swallowed, dilute by drinking large quantities of water or milk. DO NOT induce vomiting. If inhaled, remove to fresh air; if not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferable mouth-to-mouth. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
